Overview

A Mission Week Built Around the Local Church

Your team will not arrive in Santo Domingo with a one-size-fits-all ministry plan. TIME begins by listening to our Dominican pastor partners and learning what God has placed on their hearts for their churches and communities.

We then help prepare a week that brings together the needs of the local church and the gifts of your team.

Depending on the church partnership and the abilities of your group, your week may include chapel construction, Vacation Bible School, sports ministry, women’s ministry, medical or eyeglass outreach, evangelism, testimonies, worship, prayer, and community fellowship.

Your team will serve alongside Dominican believers, not simply for them, while learning from their faith, hospitality, perseverance, and love for Christ.

Before you go

We Handle the Details. You Focus on the Mission.

International travel can feel complicated. TIME Missions helps remove the uncertainty by coordinating the details of your week in Santo Domingo.

From the moment your team arrives until the day you return to the airport, our field staff helps coordinate transportation, housing, meals, translation, ministry schedules, construction preparation, team activities, and recreation.

You will arrive with a plan, a prepared ministry partnership, and an experienced team ready to walk beside you throughout the week.

What to expect

The week, taken care of.

From the airport to the last goodbye, our field team handles the logistics so you can focus on people.

Transportation Throughout Your Week

Your TIME Missions team will meet your group at the airport and provide ground transportation throughout your stay.

Our experienced drivers and field staff coordinate travel between the TIME Center, partner churches, ministry locations, construction projects, and scheduled activities.

A Comfortable Place to Rest and Grow

Your team will stay in clean, comfortable accommodations prepared for mission groups: dormitory-style bunk rooms and private rooms, with air conditioning, hot water, showers, restrooms, and meeting areas.

The TIME Center becomes your team’s home for the week, a place to pray, worship, share meals, and listen together for what God is teaching you.

Hospitality That Feels Like Home

Your team will enjoy filling meals that include Dominican favorites, familiar options, fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy proteins, purified water, and plenty of good coffee.

Around the table, teams slow down, share stories, build friendships, and celebrate what God is doing throughout the week.

Helping People Connect Across Languages

TIME missionaries, interns, translators, and Dominican volunteers help your group communicate during ministry, worship, construction, church services, and everyday conversations.

Our translators do more than repeat words. They help your team understand the culture, communicate respectfully, and form genuine connections with the people you meet.

Ways to serve

How your team can serve.

Every role matters. We prepare each opportunity alongside the local church.

Build With the Local Church

For many Dominican pastors, a chapel provides their congregation with a dependable place to worship, disciple believers, teach children, and serve the surrounding community.

TIME works with trusted pastor partners to identify and prepare construction projects that support the long-term vision of the local church.

Your group may help construct or repair a chapel, build benches, paint facilities, pour concrete, or complete another practical project. No previous construction experience is required. Our field team will organize the work, provide instruction, and find a meaningful role for everyone.

The building is important, but the relationships formed while building together are often what your team remembers most.

Use the Gifts God Has Given Your Team

God has placed different gifts, experiences, and abilities within every group. TIME helps your team use those gifts in partnership with the local church.

Our Dominican ministry team helps prepare each opportunity with the pastor so that the outreach supports the church’s ongoing ministry and provides a clear path for local follow-up.

  • Vacation Bible School and children’s outreach
  • Basketball, baseball, soccer, and other sports ministries
  • Women’s conferences and encouragement
  • Medical and eyeglass clinics
  • Community and park evangelism
  • Prayer, testimonies, music, and preaching
  • English instruction and educational activities
  • Food distribution and practical service
Why it matters

More Than a One-Week Project

Short-term missions should contribute to long-term Kingdom relationships.

TIME Missions has spent decades developing trusted relationships with Dominican pastors, churches, missionaries, volunteers, and communities. When your team comes to Santo Domingo, you become part of that continuing story.

We encourage your group to listen, learn, worship, work, and share life with Dominican believers. These relationships can continue through prayer, encouragement, communication, repeat visits, and lasting church partnerships.

Your team may travel to the Dominican Republic intending to give, but you will also receive the encouragement, wisdom, faith, and friendship of the Dominican church.

Come and be changed

What God May Do in Your Team

A week in Santo Domingo is not only about what your group accomplishes. It is also about allowing God to work within your team. Through serving, worshiping, and building relationships with Dominican believers, participants may:

  • Develop a deeper knowledge of God
  • Gain a broader understanding of the global Body of Christ
  • Learn to share their faith with greater confidence
  • Discover new gifts and ministry callings
  • Grow in humility, flexibility, and dependence on God
  • Build stronger relationships within their own team
  • Return home with renewed passion for their local church and community

Our prayer is that your team will not leave missions behind when the trip ends. We want participants to return home ready to serve Christ wherever He has placed them.

Culture & rest

Work Hard. Pray Hard. Play Hard.

Serving Jesus is serious work, but it is also filled with joy.

Your week will include opportunities to rest, laugh, explore, and experience Dominican culture together, visiting historic Santo Domingo, enjoying local food, spending time in recreation, shopping for souvenirs, or celebrating the week with your Dominican and TIME Missions friends.

These shared experiences help your group grow closer and provide space to reflect on everything God has done during the week.

Partnership

How Your Team Supports Local Churches

Our Dominican pastor partners know their churches and communities. TIME’s role is to listen to their vision and connect them with people, resources, and encouragement that can help move that vision forward.

Many pastors serve their congregations while also working other jobs and caring for their families. Their churches may need additional help with outreach, children’s ministry, sports programs, leadership development, construction, medical care, ministry resources, or community service.

Your team comes alongside the pastor and congregation for a specific season, providing additional hands, encouragement, and resources.

The local church remains at the center of the ministry. The pastor provides continuing leadership. The congregation maintains the relationships. TIME helps make the partnership possible.

Your team does not need to have every detail figured out. You simply need a willingness to serve, learn, and follow where God leads.
