Dear Friends,
I hope you are doing well. I want to share with you an important new project for TIME Missions in Cabrera, Dominican Republic. As I think about Cabrera, I do not see just a new opportunity for TIME. I see the long, faithful hand of God at work over many years. What may seem like a new step is really a renewed expression of His faithfulness, built on trusted relationships, pastor partnership, local church ministry, and the kind of timing that only the Lord could put together.
For many people, a new ministry site can sound like a sudden decision, but Cabrera is not sudden. In many ways, this story began almost 30 years ago. TIME has a rich history in Cabrera and a meaningful relationship with Pastor Partner Samuel Martinez and the local church there. Long before this current project, TIME was already serving in that area, helping build chapels, encouraging local church ministry, and forming relationships that have stood the test of time. Over the years, I would speak with the founder of TIME about Cabrera, and she always spoke with joy and deep appreciation when Samuel’s name came up. Those early years of church planting and partnership left a lasting mark on TIME.
Now, decades later, God is allowing TIME to take another step. In 2025, Cabrera was established as a new TIME site and served as a test year. TIME hosted groups there, learned from the field, and saw real ministry fruit. That matters because this vision is not theoretical. It has already been tested in real ministry. Looking ahead, five groups are already booked for Cabrera in 2026, and we are beginning to book for 2027 as well. With that kind of confirmation, the Board of Trustees has enthusiastically given Cabrera the green light to become a permanent TIME site. That means this vision has been seen, tested, discussed, and affirmed. It has not been rushed. It has been shaped through history, pastor partnership, local church trust, prayer, leadership, ministry fruit, and careful process.
One of the clearest strengths of Cabrera is that it is not built around one person or one idea. It is built around relationship. TIME has trusted partnership with Pastor Samuel and the local church. TIME also sees the need for committed American church partners who will stand with this work in prayer, participation, and long-term support. A healthy field is not built alone. It is built through the local church in the country where we serve and through churches in the United States willing to walk with that ministry.
Another one of the most important requirements for TIME is having the right anchor family in place. Tyler and Sarai Prescott are that family for Cabrera. Tyler has already been leading well in Santo Domingo, and together Tyler and Sarai provide the kind of stable, on-site leadership that helps give strength, continuity, and ministry focus to a permanent field. Their leadership is not a side detail in this story. It is one of the central reasons Cabrera is ready for this next step.
The first step in this vision is to get Tyler, Sarai, and their family housed and living in Cabrera. Tyler has invested his future in the work of God through TIME, and this next step begins with permanent housing for the Prescott family. They have already purchased land and saved money toward building. TIME now has the opportunity to come alongside them and help establish a home that will serve as their family residence and give strength and stability to the ministry taking root in Cabrera.
In the future, with Samuel’s help, strong local church partnership, and the continued involvement of American church partners, there may be opportunity for even more ministry development there. If the Lord wills, that could someday include a TIME Center in Cabrera. But for now, the clear and immediate step is to get the Prescott family established in the place where God is leading them.
Tyler’s connection to this work is made even more meaningful through family relationship, as he is married to Sarai, Samuel’s daughter. But even more than that, this story reflects something only God can do. He keeps weaving together pastor partners, local churches, missionary leaders, and American church partners for His purposes.
Cabrera has become a place where TIME sees long-term ministry value. The pastor partnership is strong. The local church connection is real. The trustees have given clear support. The anchor family is in place. The history is deep. The process has been thoughtful. And the opportunity in front of us is significant.
We are not simply talking about a building. We are talking about a ministry base. A place to serve local churches. A place to strengthen pastor partnership. A place to receive teams from American churches well. A place to support the ongoing work of the gospel.
As this project moves forward, we are asking the Lord to raise up the right people to help. We would be grateful for individuals, churches, and schools that would consider coming alongside this work through prayer, giving, and active partnership. This is an opportunity to help establish a family, strengthen a ministry base, and support the long-term work of the gospel in Cabrera. God is good, and His timing is perfect.
Thank you for walking with TIME as we continue to follow His lead. If want to start supporting the Prescott’s in this adventure, just donate to the: Missup Prescott in the note type House Project.
